Happy where I am

There are so many benefits to working and living where I do. The sidewalk chalk that greets me when I leave my apartment each morning. Taking a French class (or any class I want, for that matter) — for free. The amazing speakers that have been here for the past two days: former major league umpire Dave Pallone and memoirist Patricia Hampl. Being surrounded by people with like minds and ideas. The fact that I have T1 line for my apartment and don’t pay any rent is pretty darn cool, too. I’m just feeling happy about where I am right now.

And someone else who is pretty happy where he is right now is my friend Jason. His love of National Public Radio has led him to a kick-ass job at WBEZ in Chicago — and a six minute segment on NPR’s Morning Edition about the Dead Sea Scrolls. Way to go, Jason!
