I work in the public relations office for a fairly small college. Last week, we received a photo of six attractive students for use in a client’s brochure. Attached with the photo, a note: “If you could decrease so-and-so’s more ‘feminine features,’ that would be great.” I did not take this matter lightly. In fact, none of us on our staff did. Had we actually done what they had asked us to do, we might have ended up in a situation like this, and writing apologies like this.
