Roger’s mom was awarded the Silver Beaver Award this past weekend for her contributions to Boy Scouting. And, to make the event even more special, sons Roger and Mark (both Eagle Scouts!) were on hand to present the honor. Check out pictures of the special event.

The installation of Ryan and Paula’s new deck was completed just in time for a Memorial Day weekend picnic. Check out the hilarity as we christened the new deck and kicked off the summer!

Roger’s mom turned 60 on Aug. 29, so the weekend of the 20th she invited the entire town of Belgrade (pop. 700) to celebrate with her. She also invited her three kids (and their S.O.’s) to decorate her birthday cakes. You can see the results here. When the guests started to arrive, it turned into a cake decorating contest … and Roger and I lost to Char and Jason by one vote, who phoned theirs in by finishing their cake in less than 15 minutes, just as the first guests were arriving. Harrumph!

Roger and I decorated our Christmas tree this weekend, and while it may not be the perfect tree (damn you, Paula!), it’s filled with personality. Every ornament has a story.
