The Williams Tower, inside the Ritchie Center at the University of Denver, is one of the most stunning rooms I've seen. The tower features four 15-by-25-foot trompe l'oeil murals depicting the history of communication.

These brightly colored bowling balls — and the start of our winter bowling league with CSC — make up for the long, dark and generally dreary days of a Minnesota winter. That, and the beer and pizza.

I took this photo on the St. Olaf College campus (the woods near Hilleboe Hall, I think) in January of 2001. Even though the image is nine years old, it seemed appropriate for today, given the current temperature of 1 degree F.
