I've never liked peppers. Well, I've never really eaten them before. Mom never put them in anything, so I assumed I didn't like them. And when I tried them again this summer, they weren't so bad. Throw a red one or a yellow one on the hot flames of the grill, let it blacken until the skin nearly falls off and the insides are steaming and juicy, and then savor the sweetness of this vegetable once foreign to me. I think I could grow to like peppers.
